Network Marketing Training – What is a 3 way call?
This post will not cover the technicalities on how to do a 3 way call with your phone.

In network marketing a 3 way call is when you get one of your business partners on the phone to answer your prospects questions so that you can recruit them into your business.
A 3 way call can be very effective if you know how to do it the right way.
When should you do a 3 way call
A 3 way call should only be done after someone has seen your business opportunity.
You should only do a 3 way call if it is needed. If your prospect has a question that you can’t answer then do a 3way.
If you do a 3 way call before your prospect knows what they’re looking at your just wasting everyone’s time.
They can’t possibly ask you any sensible questions because they don’t know anything.
Some people think that if they can just get their upline on the phone with their prospect he’ll do something magical to make them join lol…
That will never happen no matter how good he is.
What you should do before the 3 way call
Before you do a 3 way call you should have a time set to follow with your prospect.
You should find out if your business partner will be able to do a 3 way call at the time you want.
Before you attempt to use your upline for a 3way you should always try to close the deal yourself.
After your prospect has watched the presentation ask them “what did you like best about what you saw?”
Even if they say I have a few questions to ask you…
Acknowledge the fact that they have questions and say before I answer your questions… Tell me what you liked best about what you saw.
If they answer positively say… It sounds like you’re ready to get started.
Shut up after you make that statement, let your prospect be the next one to talk.
Even if it takes 10 minutes before they answer… don’t say anything until they do.
If you do this you’ll recruit quite a few people without answering their questions.
Now if they still bring up a question that you can’t answer after they told you what they liked best its time to do a 3 way call.
How to Transition into a 3way call
A big mistake people make is they will ask their prospect for permission to do a 3 way call.
Never ask for permission… you’re the one that’s in control.
Another mistake is they will make their upline seem like someone who is going to get on the phone and hard close them into the business.
Here is an example of how you should transition into a 3way call:
Johnny: Could you explain the compensation plan a little better?
You: That’s a great question and I could tell that you’re serious by asking that question. I’d feel better if I got one of my business partners to answer that question for you to make sure this is a good fit for you. I can’t promise you that I’ll get him but hold on let me try.
After you connect your business partner on the phone you should edify him to your prospect.
Here is an example:
You: Johnny, I’m amazed that we were able to get him on the phone because he is very busy. He is one of the top income earners and trainers in the company and he is very well-respected in this industry. You’ll also be working with him too. He only has a few minutes so… Johnny this is Chris…. Chris this is Johnny.
Of course you should never lie about the credentials of your upline or business partner. But you should always edify them.
After you introduce them it is very important that you keep your mouth shut and just listen.
Many people make the mistake of interrupting and saying don’t forget to tell him about this or don’t forget to tell them about that.
Remember you just introduced them as an expert. So they already know what to say and do they don’t need your help.
