Ampegy is a new network marketing company that was launched in February 2011 by Keith Maxwell.  Keith Maxwell was named the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur in 2010 in the chemicals, mining and energy category.  Ampegy is a new division of the company Spark Energy that was started in 1999 also by Keith Maxwell.  Both companies are headquartered in Houston, Texas.  Spark Energy is currently doing business in 15 states.  Ampegy does business in 8 states at the time of this article.  They are currently doing business in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, California, Connecticut, Texas, Michigan and they are getting ready to launch in Ohio.

This company gives their distributors the opportunity to make money by marketing electric and gas services in the 9 states that they are currently doing business in.  They are only doing business in 9 states right now because those are the states that allow deregulation of gas and electricity.

 

Ampegy the Commpensation Plan

 

The distributors are paid a based rate of 25 cents on the Kilowatt Hour (KwH) a customer uses every month.  Of course the more customers they have the more money the distributor will make.  That is only one way that the company pays the reps, but they can also get paid through fast start bonuses and business development bonuses and there are a few other ways that reps can be paid.

 

Why Are Ampegy Reps Struggling

 

Ampegy seems to be a decent company and it definitely gives anyone the opportunity to make a substantial amount of money.  The problem is that most reps don’t make the kind of money that they expect to make when they join.  This has nothing to do with the company this is because the reps are not taking the time out to learn how to market and get quality leads.

 

When a new distributor joins Ampegy they are told to make a list of their family, friends and neighbors so that they can introduce them to the business and the services.  This is the best and fastest way to make money when you are first getting started, but the problem is that after most reps go through their list they run out of people to speak to.  If reps don’t have anyone to present their business to, they will never make money in this business.

If you want to be successful with your business it is mandatory that you learn how to market and get leads.  After all this is a network marketing business, after you go through your network of friends and family you have to remember the keyword MARKETING.
