Amway Scam?

Before we answer the Amway Scam question lets define the word scam.  According to the free dictionary online a scam is a fraudulent business scheme, a swindle another definition says to swindle someone by means of a trick.

Now lets look up the definition of a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme is defined as a fraudulent scheme in which people are recruited to make payments to the person who recruited them while expecting to receive payments from the persons they recruit; when the number of new recruits fails to sustain the hierarchical payment structure the scheme collapses with most of the participants losing the money they put in.

Now according to these 2 definitions lets see if the Amway scam claims or  pyramid scheme claims are true.  Lets look at the facts for Amway Global.

2. It was started in 1959, and is still in business 52 years later
3. They have more than 13000 employees worldwide
4. They are a member of the Direct Selling Association or DSA
5. They are ranked in Forbes as 1 of the largest privately owned companies in the U.S.A
6. They are ranked with Deloitte as one of the largest companies in the world.
7. They do over 9 billion dollars in sales every year worldwide.

Amway Scam? NO! Absolutely Not! Anyone that thinks Amway is a scam needs to get their brain checked because they obviously can’t tell a great business opportunity when they see one.  Amway can’t be classified as a pyramid scheme either, when you are recruited as an Independent Business Owner (IBO) you don’t pay your upline any money, all of the payments come directly from Amway.  There are many Ibo’s who make more money than their personal sponsors.

Why do people make Amway Scam Claims?

The only people who are going to make Amway Scam claims is someone who doesn’t understand the concept of network marketing or someone who joined with a get rich quick mentality and had a bad experience.  By bad experience I mean someone who made no money or someone who lost money while they were in the business.

The truth is most of the reps in Amway or any other network marketing company are spending more money than they are making.  This is not because the company is bad, it is because most reps are not willing to take the time out to learn what is needed to succeed in business.  It is Just like someone who decides that they want to own a restaurant and they fail.  Does that mean that the restaurant business is a bad business?  Of course not because there are many successful restaurant that you have eaten from, but there are more restaurant owners that fail than the ones that make it.  Why is that?  Because the successful owners took the time to find out what works and what they needed to do to make the restaurant a success.
